About Placement

     

     I am currently on an 8-month placement in Nepal for my degree in International Development. Nepal is located between China and India but has a distinct culture of its own. 

     I am working as a Documentation Intern with IDS Nepal. IDS Nepal is an NGO working in five areas within Nepal: climate change and renewable energy, infrastructure development, knowledge management, social development, and sustainable development. 
     I will be working with the Multistakeholder Forestry Management Project (MSFP), performing tasks such as:

• Preparing publication materials for dissemination in national and international level.
• Updating the IDS-Nepal website with current projects and activities
• Developing a new website for Lot VI of the MSFP Project

As well I may take on the tasks that are most required at the time, but these are the currently assigned tasks.

    Currently I am living in the busy capital of Kathmandu, where the streets are packed and there is heavy air pollution. Although the culture is also very different from what I know here in Canada and I think will take some getting used to, the experience has been amazing and I look forward to the rest of my 8 months here.
